Two of the greatest horse rides in Australian history are “The Man from Snowy River” and when Alan Woods rode Curio. Very pleased to welcome to our Banjo Paterson Museum this week the Johnston’s from Bendigo who had an amazing story.
They were both present at the Marrabel Rodeo in 1953 when Alan Woods rode Curio. The Johnston’s were there quite independently of each other and living in two different states. They then met and married ten years later – each having witnessed this great piece of Australian Rodeo history.
